Analytics & Operations Lead 

 

Bayer Inc.’s Pharmaceutical division has undergone a major transformation in our operating model and customer engagement approach to better serve our patients and customers and achieve ‘Health for All’.

 

Reporting directly to the Head Product & Operations, Bayer Inc., the Analytics & Operations Lead is responsible to lead, develop & direct the strategic implementation over 4 core areas and employees for the Pharmaceutical Division: Insights, Analytics Translation, Data Science, Omnichannel Capabilities Management & Digital Operations whilst driving customer engagement transformation & innovation.

 

The Lead will build, develop and drive deep analytical expertise and guide omni-channel operational strategy for the Canadian organization across all therapeutic areas to ensure seamless integration of technology to drive customer engagement.

 

You will have the opportunity to lead Commercial & Medical Analytics and Platform Operations to enable enterprise-wide, data-driven omnichannel execution and go-to-market strategies. You will translate market and customer data into actionable insights, build local advanced-analytics capabilities, and ensure our Product and Customer Squads have the platforms, processes, and support required to meet their objectives.

What you will do:

 

Strategy & leadership

    • Own Commercial and Medical Analysis and the country-level execution of enterprise sales and marketing platforms to support omnichannel engagement and go-to-market initiatives.
    • Provide the country perspective into relevant global communities and contribute local requirements to enterprise CRM, omnichannel, Data, Analytics, and BI roadmaps to ensure global innovations are realized locally.

Team leadership & capability building

    • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team including analytics translators, data scientists, omnichannel managers, and digital experts.
    • Build local capability in advanced analytics, data science, AI/ML, campaign automation, journey design, and digital platform operations so Customer and Product Squads are trained and future-ready.

Insights & analytics delivery

    • Design and implement analytical strategies, reporting, and advanced-insight generation that inform commercial, medical, and product decisions.
    • Deliver actionable market and customer insights and omnichannel engagement strategies to cross-functional teams and Pharma Leadership.

Squad & operations management

    • Oversee Squad Operations (Marketing Effectiveness, Data Analytics, Customer Operations) to ensure Product and Customer Squads have the data, tools, and support to achieve objectives.
    • Continually assess internal and external environments, update the operational support model, and develop new capabilities to maintain relevance and impact.

Cross-functional leadership

    • Act as a member of the Pharmaceutical Enablement Network alongside Head Customer Engagement, Head Product & Operations, Head Pipeline Strategy, and Head Digital Strategy to escalate and resolve operational topics at the appropriate level.
    • Maintain strategic and operational alignment across Pharma Operations (Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Sales Business Management) and Analytics & Platform Support.

Commercial execution & field support

    • Provide direction on field force sizing, distribution, target-customer selection, and effort allocation to optimize customer engagement and portfolio performance.

Tools, platforms & continuous improvement

    • Own evaluation and adoption of new tools, platforms, processes, and emerging best practices and technologies.
    • Be proficient with enterprise systems and digital platforms (e.g., Veeva, Website Factory) and drive their effective use across teams.

 

 

Who you are:

 

  • 12–15 years’ pharma experience with a proven track record of leadership in commercial pharmaceutical operations (marketing, new product commercialization, portfolio/strategic planning).
  • Strong analytics & insights expertise: advanced analytics, reporting, AI/ML familiarity, and data-driven decision making.
  • Deep commercial and medical business acumen across digital, omnichannel customer engagement, CRM, campaign automation, and journey building.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary, cross‑functional and multicultural teams in a matrix environment; proven ability to influence stakeholders at local, regional and global levels.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with enterprise platforms (e.g., Veeva, Website Factory) and ability to drive platform/BI roadmap adoption.
  • Leadership capabilities (VACC: Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coaching) with excellent communication, negotiation, project-management and strategic-thinking skills.
  • High ethical standards and complex problem‑solving orientation; strong focus on achieving goals and staying current with evolving healthcare, payer/provider, technology and regulatory environments.
  • Preferred: University degree in Business/Commerce/Statistics/Economics; bilingual French/English is a strong asset; deep understanding of global business objectives.

The base salary range for this role is between $146,000.00 and $196,000.00. This compensation includes components such as base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential estimated overtime pay and paid statutory leaves of absence. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, and contributory retirement savings plans, etc.

 

This role also provides the opportunity to earn additional performance-based compensation. If performance-based compensation is earned, the total compensation package may provide an opportunity to earn a Total Direct Compensation (TDC) range of $212,900.00 to $262,900.00. This TDC would include base salary and may also include items like bonuses (short-term and long-term incentives) and sales incentives. The estimated TDC range estimates performance-based compensation earned at 100% of target; however actual amounts may fluctuate below or above the TDC range based on company and/or individual performance.

 

This salary range is an estimate and may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, market data and the applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
