Head Oncology Portfolio
Bayer Inc.’s Pharmaceutical division is undergoing a major transformation in our operating model and customer engagement approach to better serve our patients and customers and achieve ‘Health for All’.
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Country President and General Manager of the Pharmaceutical Division, Bayer Inc., the Head Oncology Portfolio will lead a high-priority, cross-functional Product Squad from a visionary, strategic, and financial perspective.
Nubeqa is a key growth driver for Bayer with strong market momentum in a highly competitive landscape. The Head Oncolgy Portfolio is responsible for maintaining this trajectory by anticipating market dynamics, leveraging deep therapeutic knowledge, and fostering an agile culture to ensure Nubeqa reaches its full potential for Canadian patients.

What you will do:
1. Strategic Vision & Growth Momentum
- Lead the long-term and short-term strategic vision for Nubeqa, transitioning from launch excellence to sustained growth and market leadership.
- Proactively identify and anticipate market dynamics before they occur, utilizing competitive intelligence and data analytics to stay ahead in a highly contested therapeutic space.
- Define positioning and messaging across segments, ensuring the brand remains the preferred choice in an evolving clinical environment.
2. Cross-Functional Squad Leadership (VACC Model)
- Direct a dedicated cross-functional squad (Medical, Access, Regulatory, Ops, etc.) using the VAAC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach) approach.
- Foster a high-performance, inclusive culture, providing the mentorship and feedback necessary to empower squad members and drive collective accountability.
3. Financial Stewardship & Resource Governance
- Share P&L accountability with the Head of Customer Engagement and Head of Product & Operations.
- Build and present robust business cases for resource needs, ensuring optimal investment to defend market share and drive volume in a competitive environment.
4. Agile Marketing & Innovation
- Operate within an Agile marketing framework, working in 90-day iterative cycles to adapt to market shifts and customer feedback.
- Drive a "digital-first" mindset, overseeing the development of modular content and leveraging Predictive Analytics or AI-driven insights to gain a competitive moat in customer engagement.
5. Customer Centricity & External Advocacy
- Serve as the primary brand ambassador, establishing deep relationships with top Canadian Thought Leaders and Advisory Board members.
- Transform complex market research and customer insights into actionable plans that create tangible value for patients and healthcare providers.
6. Collaboration & Compliance
- Partner closely with Customer Engagement Squads to ensure field teams are equipped with the tools and insights needed for execution.
- Navigate the Canadian regulatory landscape (PAAB/IMC) with precision, ensuring all innovative content meets high governance standards.
- Foster an inclusive environment of professionalism and safe working practices ensuring Safety and Compliance requirements are met or exceeded within Squad.
Who you are:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of pharmaceutical strategic leadership (Marketing, Sales, or Market Access). Experience in Oncology or highly competitive specialty markets is a significant asset.
- Agile Mindset: Proven expertise in agile ways of working. You are comfortable with ambiguity, welcome change, and can lead a team through the friction of a fast-paced market.
- Market Intelligence: A "strategist" mindset with a track record of anticipating industry trends and competitor moves before they impact the business.
- Financial Acumen: Strong working knowledge of P&L management, resource planning, and fiscal KPIs.
- Leadership Style: You can manage conflict, challenge the status quo, and take calculated risks while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Digital Savvy: Deep understanding of omnichannel engagement and how to integrate digital tools (including Generative AI and predictive modeling) into modern marketing operations.

The base salary range for this role is between $148,880 and $198,880. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, and contributory retirement savings plans, etc.
This role also provides the opportunity to earn additional performance-based compensation. If performance-based compensation is earned, the total compensation package may provide an opportunity to earn a Total Direct Compensation (TDC) range of $217,000 to $267,000. This TDC would include base salary and may also include items like bonuses (short-term and long-term incentives) and sales incentives. The estimated TDC range estimates performance-based compensation earned at 100% of target; however actual amounts may fluctuate below or above the TDC range based on company and/or individual performance.
This salary range is an estimate and may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, market data and the applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
