QA Specialist - Change Management (12 month)
The QA Specialist – Change Management, as a member of the Quality Systems Community, is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and continuous improvement of the change control program while ensuring full compliance with internal procedures, global and regulatory requirements. This role requires oversight of the change control team and working closely with local and global stakeholders to ensure an effective and efficient change management program.
Bayer is committed to a hybrid working environment. This is a vacant 12-month Short-term Assignment or Contract position based out of our Head Office in Mississauga, ON.
What you will do:
- Coordinate local and global site changes to include initiation, review, assignment to review boards and closure.
- Ensure change documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal and regulatory requirements, and includes data‑driven assessments of risk and impact.
- Identify and help mitigate risks and impact associated with proposed changes and escalate issues to the leadership team, as necessary.
- Monitor open changes. Resolve delays or issues and to ensure timely closure and alignment with established schedules.
- Lead meetings with global stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of Canadian regulatory requirements and a well-coordinated flow of activities.
- Represent the Canadian organization in global initiatives, communicating Canadian specific requirements and ensuring alignment across sites.
- Prepare for audits by ensuring system readiness. Serve as a subject matter expert during audits related to change control and associated quality systems.
- Oversee the development and execution of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Maintain local standard operating procedures to ensure alignment with internal and regulatory standards.
- Participate in local and global continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of change control processes.
- Collect, analyze, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, recommend and drive improvements, and support decision‑making.
- Ensure all activities/events are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, i accordance with Bayer Safety, Compliance and Sustainability Policies.
Who you are:
- University Degree or college Diploma in science (e.g. Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated industry, with a focus on change management and quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical quality systems, change control processes, and Health Canada regulatory requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of data integrity principles, good manufacturing practices, risk management and Health Canada regulatory guidelines and regulations.
- Strong project management, leadership, interpersonal skills and technical writing skills.
- High level of accountability, collaborative with an enabling and entrepreneurial mindset
- Fast learning, action-oriented and agile.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
- Proficiency in change management software and systems.
- Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is an asset.

The base salary range for this role is between $84,800 and $127,200. This compensation includes components such as base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential estimated overtime pay and paid statutory leaves of absence. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, and contributory retirement savings plans, etc.
This role also provides the opportunity to earn additional performance-based compensation. If performance-based compensation is earned, the total compensation package may provide an opportunity to earn a Total Direct Compensation (TDC) range of $95,800 to $143,700. This TDC would include base salary and may also include items like bonuses (short-term and long-term incentives) and sales incentives. The estimated TDC range estimates performance-based compensation earned at 100% of target; however actual amounts may fluctuate below or above the TDC range based on company and/or individual performance.
This salary range is an estimate and may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, market data and the applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
