Total Rewards Specialist
The TR specialist is responsible for the management, administration and all operational requirements to deliver the Benefit, Retirement, and Savings plans for Canada inclusive of Insurances, extended health care frameworks and services, pension schemes and both tax sheltered and non-sheltered savings frameworks. This position will act as a Total Rewards Specialist (Subject matter expert) and to provide expertise to the local organization.

What you will do:
- Manage Benefits Renewal process including but not limited to recommending benefit offerings in line with legislation and market competitiveness
- Manage all communications with respect to Benefits and Pensions
- Ensuring compliance and legislative requirements for all pension plans (DB and DC)
- Prime for all management & operational matters regarding Canada Pension plan (both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution)
- Prime for all operational matters regarding Savings Programs and maintaining all compliance requirements in collaboration with service provider
- Manages internal enquiries that are escalated due to complexity on all matters relating to benefit plans and retirement schemes
- Reconciles monthly and annual costs for Key participant in the collaboration with Finance and Accounting to determine the Benefit burden rate for budgetary adoption and provide on-going explanation for significant deltas
- Responsible for the accuracy relating to expenditure on Benefits plan, Retirement plans and supporting external providers
- Manage disability management queries and escalations, generate eligibility files for vendors, upload taxable benefits files for pension and defined contributions for employees and manage annual benefit enrollment
- Conduct analysis and increase efficiencies for the administration all Total Rewards components including compensation, pension, benefits and recognition
- Manages the collection of data and transmission of data processes in support of all compliance including year-end activities relating to payroll, monthly and quarterly reporting requirements for both internal and external parties, as well as routine interfaces with external consultants and service providers; holds responsibility for accurate and appropriate outcomes. Provides Manulife expense reconciliation against float, actuals, and Provisions
- Responsible for the communication, analysis and inquiries for compensation and pension and benefit plans
- Testing SAP to incorporate any new changes.
- Support TR Lifecycle activities as required
- Other projects and initiatives as assigned by TR Lead
Who you are:
- 5+ years of experience in pension and benefits administration and management
- Excellent understanding of and aptitude for employee processes, programs and policies
- Excellent working knowledge of current Canadian pension and benefits legislation and taxable benefit calculations
- Experience using SAP or related HR technology
- High aptitude for numbers / Excel functionalities
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced setting and to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities
