Expert Environmental Modelling (all genders)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- You support the environmental risk assessment of Bayer crop protection products for terrestrial animal and/or plant species using mechanistic models
- You support technical teams conducting laboratory and field studies by contributing to study design, interpreting results, and extrapolating findings to untested scenarios such as different species, exposure conditions, or climates
- You evaluate and integrate all relevant information, including literature and experimental data, to define product risk profiles and link findings from different studies to specific protection goals
- You contribute to interdisciplinary internal and external scientific projects aimed at advancing science-based pesticide risk assessment through mechanistic simulation models
- You communicate risk assessment outcomes and justify mitigation measures in registration dossiers and in interactions with regulatory authorities
- You share scientific insights and project results through publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences
- You support colleagues around the world in assessing Bayer product risks within their regional and regulatory contexts
WHO YOU ARE
- You hold a Ph.D. or M.Sc. in biology, ecology, toxicology, pharmacology, computational science, or a related scientific discipline
- You bring professional experience in one or more of these fields, and experience in regulatory environments is an advantage
- You have a background in ecotoxicology, ecology, toxicology, pharmacology, systems biology, computational biology, or a comparable area
- You have a strong interest in mechanistic modelling, and hands-on modelling experience is a plus
- You are familiar with programming or scripting languages such as R, Python, or Matlab
- You are motivated to build a mechanistic understanding of processes and effects by applying state-of-the-art and innovative approaches such as Adverse Outcome Pathway-informed assessment
- You are self-driven, open-minded, collaborative, and focused on delivering impactful results
- You enjoy working in international and cross-functional environments within and beyond Bayer
- You communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken
