Intern in AI Agent Development/Natural Language Processing (NLP) (all genders) 

We offer a 6-month internship (either compulsory or voluntary). YOUR TASKS AND EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

• Work with experienced data scientists/applied researchers within a cross-divisional team on developing advanced AI-powered reasoning agent designed to unify and leverage Bayer's wealth of scattered knowledge for decision making
• Research, implement and integrate state-of-the-art AI agent architectures and reasoning frameworks
• Develop methods for connecting AI systems to internal knowledge bases, tools, and structured/unstructured data sources (internal and external)
• Support the creation of specialized AI workflows for use cases like target prioritization, safety assessments and dossier generation
• Implement natural language interfaces that enable intuitive human-AI collaboration
• Write clean, well-documented Python code, contribute to open-source code and participate in system architecture design
• Communicate your results clearly and rigorously across multidisciplinary teams, including scientific publications 

WHO YOU ARE

• During the whole period of internship enrolled Master student (all genders) in computer science, data science, physics, math, engineering or life sciences
• Expertise and extensive hands-on experience in Python programming
• Good understanding of machine-learning, large language models, prompting and NLP-methods  
• Ideally experiences with tools and frameworks for orchestration of RAG and agentic workflows like LangChain, Transformers, llamaindex, MCP
• Interest in Life Science topics and basic domain understanding, ideally knowledgeable in bioinformatics or cheminformatics
• Ability to solve complex problems via creative solutions, open minded and ready to embrace new ideas
• Organized, focused and with a high degree of commitment, independence and time management
• Passionate about applying AI to make an impact on fighting hunger and diseaes
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
