Cropping System Specialist 

Location: Remote – Cono Sur (Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile)
Work Mode: Remote with frequent travel across the region
 

Main Purpose

To lead the design and execution of Bayer’s integrated technical value proposition across current and intensified production systems in the Cono Sur region. This role connects agronomic insights with product strategy—bridging field reality with innovation—to unlock sustainable business growth opportunities in a cross-functional, regional environment.

Your Mission

• Understand current and intensified cropping systems across Cono Sur territories and identify opportunities for technical improvement.

• Design Bayer’s integrated technical value proposition by aligning Crop Protection, Seeds & Traits, Digital tools, and Regenerative Agriculture solutions.

• Lead the Gap & Needs process to identify solution gaps and opportunities for innovation.

• Collaborate daily with Technical Managers, Technical Consultants, the Procarbono Program, R&D teams, local advisors, and academia.

• Use Bayer Forward Farming and its Members as key insight platforms for technical validation and connection.

• Define and deliver impactful training programs for Technical Consultants in line with the product strategy.

• Represent the Product Team in discussions with Breeding, Agronomic Services, Field Solutions, and Production Research.

• Organize and lead strategic field technical tours as spaces for alignment, discussion, and knowledge transfer.

• Maintain and evolve public-private collaboration programs aligned with Bayer’s growth strategy.

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

• A degree in Agronomy or Agricultural Production Engineering. Postgraduate studies in Crop Science or Soil Science are highly valued.

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in crop systems R&D, agronomic strategy, or technical product development.

• Advanced English (written and spoken), required for regional and global interaction.

• Strong agronomic knowledge, understanding of cropping systems, and deep awareness of agricultural markets.

• A results-driven mindset, with strategic vision and the ability to connect technical insights with impactful action.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

• Availability to travel frequently across Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and occasionally Chile. Flexibility is key—the role can be based anywhere in the region.
