What You Will Do

 

Our Process Engineers provide day-to-day tactical direction, apply technical skills, maintain operations, and resolve routine issues. They ensure safe, efficient, productive, and environmentally sound manufacture of active ingredients and finished formulations.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Process Engineer II – Formulations North, are to:

 

  • Assist plant management and operations personnel daily in evaluating and achieving plant performance goals related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability, making tactical decisions based on plant knowledge;
  • Coordinate with corporate and site production planners on production timing and raw material availability to ensure seamless operations;
  • Develop and track key performance indicators to measure and enhance plant performance;
  • Participate in investigations of area performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability, leading to the proposal and implementation of sound technical solutions;
  • Serve as a process expert or plant representative for the design, construction, and implementation of investment projects, interfacing with technical professionals from other disciplines;
  • Maintain and develop standards for area operating documentation, including standard operating procedures, process descriptions, material and energy balances, P&IDs, and operating data collection and retrieval;
  • Collaborate on design and execute plant trials aimed at enhancing area performance and qualifying alternative raw material suppliers;
  • Compile, format, and submit environmental data necessary for timely and accurate filing with local, state, and federal agencies;
  • Engage in the continued development of self and area personnel through peer coaching and constructive feedback;
  • Support Site and Area Production System improvements, OnePSS.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 2 years of engineering experience, preferably in plant operation functions;
  • Excellent knowledge of chemical processes to effectively analyze, recommend, and make decisions.

 

Posting is available until May 5, 2026

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $69,520.00 - $104,280.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
