What You Will Do
The Senior Process Engineer focuses on optimizing and advancing process technologies within production facilities. This position is responsible for leading engineering teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, the role ensures that processes are compliant with industry standards and continuously improved to meet operational goals.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate with corporate and site production planners on production timing, strategy, and raw material availability.
- Assist Unite management in evaluating and achieving KPIs for safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability.
- Investigate plant performance issues (safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, operability) and propose/implement technically sound solutions.
- Serve as process expert and unit representative for design, construction, and implementation of investment projects; interface across disciplines (e.g., PCT, project engineering, environmental/utility services, process development).
- Create, maintain, and develop standards for unit operating documentation (SOPs, process descriptions, material/energy balances, P&IDs, operating data collection/retrieval).
- Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary optimization and reliability teams; help set continuous improvement goals, prioritize resources, and communicate performance metrics.
- Lead/participate as process expert in HAZOP and other Process Hazard Analyses; support timely resolution of identified process safety risks.
- Propose designs and execute plant trials to enhance plant performance.
- Serve as manufacturing representative on Technical Core Team for assigned processes; maintain the Process Management File; approve process changes and deviations from operating limits.
- Support adherence to procedures, guidelines, design standards, and technologies across the site as a subject matter expert; lead/represent the site on corporate teams.
- Foster knowledge transfer with other plant engineers; support development of self and others through peer coaching and constructive feedback.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6 years of engineering experience, or Master’s degree with 4 years of engineering experience (preferably in a plant operations function).
- Process engineering expertise in manufacturing operations; ability to set direction and make sound tactical decisions.
- Continuous improvement mindset; ability to define goals, prioritize resources, and deliver measurable performance gains.
- Process safety competence (HAZOP/PHA participation and risk resolution follow-through).
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause investigation skills across safety, quality, reliability, and environmental performance.
- Technical documentation rigor (SOPs, process descriptions, P&IDs, balances, data systems).
- Cross-functional collaboration and communication; able to interface effectively with operations, maintenance, QHSE, engineering, and corporate functions.
- Leadership and coaching; fosters knowledge transfer and provides constructive feedback.
This posting will expire on May 5th, 2026.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of $ 90,400-126,560 per year. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
