Plant PCT Engineer (m/f/d) 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Plant PCT Engineer is responsible for all electrical and instrumentation matters affecting plant operability and reliability, maintenance, investments, technology improvements, and technical compliance/integrity; you are a core member of the Plant Technical Team collaborating with engineering, operations, and external partners to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable production at the site.

 

KEY TASKS

  • Ensure the PCT performance, to support the performance goals of the plant in regard to production capacity, plant availability, reliability, compliance, quality, safety and environment.
  • Responsible (technical, budget, timelines) for the planning and execution of PCT maintenance. Leading or participating in the development and implementation of general maintenance strategies.
  • Planning, execution and supervision basic budget investments and of investments up to 5 Mio €, participation in the realisation of bigger investments in his/her area of responsibility
  • Very good Knowledge of current internal and external guidelines, comply with local technical and legal requirements as well as with company policies, statutes, and operational excellence practices in the area of PCT
  • Responsible for the scheduling of preventive maintenance tasks, adaptation according to plant performance, break-down history of instrument and on basis of best practicies.
  • Responsible for identification and evaluation of PCT- modifications and -improvements in a plant
  • Responsible for trouble shooting of DCS, modification of maintenance schedules and plans as well as initiation of improvement projects to minimise break-downs
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of PCT documentation.
  • Identification, evaluation and implementation of Knowledge Transfer and Good Practice within the PCT community at site.

 

WHO YOU ARE

  • University degree (Bachelor or higher) in Electrical engineering or Process Control Technology
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the field of PCT or a comparable working environment
  • Knowledge of common processes and standards of process control technology.
  • Good knowledge of engineering tools and software
  • Practical experience in project or maintenance work related to PCT in the environment of the chemical industry.
  • Key competencies: Destinct technical and economical competencies with thorough understanding of process control concepts / practices and project management.
  • Written and oral communication skills are essential thus able to lead a team and deal with people of different educational background.
  • Good understanding of supporting processes associated with operations & maintenance of a plant
  • Fluent in German and English is a must. Any other languages are a plus
