Production Maintenance Cluster Lead / Production Maintenance Manager
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach and Catalyst) to build, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of technicians, promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment. Establish target outcomes, priorities and coordinate talent flow to maximize organizational impact. The incumbent demonstrates, credibly embodies and showcases VACC leadership

Identify upskilling training needs and develop or source training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the maintenance cluster teams

Develop and maintain high performing autonomous teams with higher level of self-organization and proactive culture that accentuates continuous improvement principles

Take full accountability for the performance of the assigned cluster(s) budget, service levels, and execution of Product Supply Systems (PSS) and digitalization initiatives
-
Provide technical and non-technical leadership to all aspects of the end-to-end (E2E) manufacturing and packaging equipment maintenance processes and ensure adherence to schedule attainment, service levels, equipment uptime, and cost-efficient operations

Lead the Data Integrity (DI) programs related activities execution including Programable Logic Controllers (PLCs) maintenance and ladder logic programs modifications and backup per Bayer procedures
-
Provide technical expertise for assigned cluster(s) and resolve problems such as equipment unplanned downtime / breakdown, low efficiencies, scheduling conflicts, and employee performance and drive appropriate corrective / preventive actions

Drive the control systems instrumentation calibration program for all production equipment and facilities
-
Evaluate equipment needs and lead preventive maintenance procedural changes and enhancement
-
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the manufacturing and packaging equipment maintenance processes, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve OEE performance. Identify and address operational barriers and equipment complex challenges that impact efficiency and quality

Manage, coordinate and directly supervise non-exempt maintenance resources including external maintenance service contractors; and ensure that sufficient resources are available on a timely basis to meet production schedules, maintenance budgetary and headcount commitments

Supervise multi-skilled personnel, to ensure that performance meets established safety, quality, compliance Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), delivery and cost standards
-
Drive PSS and Factory of Future (digitalization) initiatives within maintenance cluster(s) teams to enhance operational efficiency, reduce unplanned equipment downtime and maintenance costs, and increase production capacity while maintaining product quality and safety standards

Drive the execution of the robust and reliable asset life cycle management programs closely align with operational excellence, efficiencies and continuous improvement strategies for production equipment and facilities;

Collaborate with reliability engineering and co-develop the practices to improve equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs. Optimize maintenance procedures and techniques to improve equipment reliability
-
Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues. Drive the programs to conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations associated with equipment failures
-
Drive equipment reliability programs to reduce unplanned downtime, increased OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and increased efficiencies of manufacturing and packaging equipment
-
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, GMP standards, and industry best practices across manufacturing and packaging equipment maintenance processes and facilities for assigned cluster(s)
-
Ensure all maintenance work is completed in a timely manner as per SOPs and properly documented in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Lead efforts to optimize and maintain electronic maintenance record processes and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of electronic records

Drive the continuous improvement mindset and root cause investigations for equipment deviations targeting robust corrective actions preventive actions (CAPA) and reduction in deviations and write-offs
-
Participate in regular internal and external audits to maintain compliance and address any discrepancies
-
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the end-to-end (E2E) performance, asset utilization, and making data-driven decisions to optimize operations within assigned maintenance cluster(s). Establish and execute productivity goals through innovative automation, PSS acceleration and AI technology

Drive the program for continuous process monitoring, analyze operational and maintenance data to track equipment performance, identify bottlenecks and areas for optimization
-
Work closely with supply chain, operational excellence, engineering, core operations teams, quality, controlling, manufacturing IT, CoE Hubs, HR, and other departments to ensure seamless collaboration across all functions to maximize efficiency, performance, and ensure or improve product quality

Close collaboration with operations cluster leads and supply chain function to understand the customers demand, production schedules, and optimize the overall maintenance resource utilization accordingly
-
Work with reliability engineering and controlling functions to update the cost standards for all manufacturing and packaging equipment maintenance processes across assigned cluster(s)
-
Coordinate and schedule external contract maintenance resources as needed.

Ensure contractors are complying with all applicable safety and environmental regulations and company procedures and policies
-
Provide technical input to project teams on projects including new product introductions, facilities renovation and purchase of new equipment or equipment modifications

Associates degree

Multifunctional and deep experience of complex manufacturing, packaging or engineering management in the consumer and/or pharmaceutical industry

Thorough knowledge of solid dosage & liquid manufacturing and packaging operations

Strong understanding of the regulatory arena involving GMP, OSHA, EPA, and Bayer standards are essential
Preferred Qualifications:
-
6 + years of leadership engineering/maintenance/production supervisory experience in FDA, pharmaceutical industry is preferred, or associate's degree with 8+ years of experience
-
Bachelor's degree or master's degree with multi-functional experience in Engineering or Manufacturing
-
Engineering / Maintenance troubleshooting skills and experience which includes working with PLC's, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronics, HVAC systems, fabrication, and/or industrial maintenance. Experience with utilizing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $111,360.00 - $167,040.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
