SSHE Technician
Support the site SSHE Coordinator on operational activities and interact daily with supervisors and workers to ensure the application of corporate SSHE requirements at the Nagyigmánd RC Seed manufacturing site; Maintain a strong presence on the shopfloor to coach and advise colleagues, elaborate risk assessments to reduce recordable incidents, and continuously enhance the site’s Safety culture; Prepare, check, and control the activities of external companies performing installation, maintenance, or other works at the site, and actively participate in project preparation and follow-up in close collaboration with cross-functional partners; Work in a spirit of Dynamic Shared Ownership, flexibly cooperating and sharing resources with other production units, acting responsibly and independently while coordinating with your teammates, continuously developing your professional skills, and always keeping Occupational Safety, Quality Assurance, and Legal compliance in mind as you seek creative solutions to emerging challenges.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, SSHE Technician, are to:
- Support the SSHE Coordinator in day-to-day operational SSHE tasks and in the operation of the Safety, Security, Health, and Environmental management system;
- Apply company, ISO, and country-specific legal and standard requirements, including Business and Guest regulations, in all site activities;
- Conduct Work in Progress inspections, Gemba walks, and shopfloor risk assessments to identify hazards and drive preventive and corrective actions;
- Prepare, control, and follow up the activities of external companies and support PR and QT Lab activities, including participation as SSHE support in project preparation teams;
- Conduct safety onboarding and recurrent trainings for external partners and encourage reporting of safety observations, near misses, and first-aid cases;
- Contribute to incident investigations and root cause analyses, follow up on preventive and corrective actions, and liaise closely with Security Services and key internal stakeholders to strengthen SSHE performance.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
- Minimum mid-level Occupational Safety qualification with relevant experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment;
- Desirable knowledge of certified management systems (ISO/OHSAS) and the ability to follow ESH/HSE rules in line with ISO 9001 and ESTA requirements;
- Strong personal competencies including networking, communication and motivational skills, tactical thinking and agility, leading by influencing others, and a strong results orientation;
- Proven experience in delivering presentations and conducting trainings, with solid administrative skills and proficiency in standard IT tools (e.g., MS Office, SAP);
- Ability to work responsibly and independently while collaborating closely with teammates, embracing LEAN-based best practices (e.g., teamwork, visual management, 5S) and continuously developing professionally;
- Willingness to participate in internal and external trainings as required, to report non-conformities and risks, and to follow and comply with standard procedures while maintaining precise and comprehensive data recording;
- Communication-level English is an advantage.
