Nurse Educator, Oncology (Philadelphia, PA) 

 

PURPOSE

The Oncology Nurse Educator (ONE) exhibits deep knowledge of oncology disease states and Bayer products. Serves as a liaison, educator, and promotional conduit to health care professionals in support of oncology field sales.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtain and maintain full proficiency in franchise products, tumor types, disease states, and business knowledge to support needs of customer accounts and sales teams;
  • Maintain primary focus on account management and high priority customers within academic institutions, area hospitals, and community settings;
  • Educate key customers on franchise products and the oncology disease states for which they are indicated, including clinical education on appropriate patients, proper dosing, and safe and effective use of our products;
  • Support advocacy initiates around patient education;
  • Provide clinical expertise and support to training department;
  • Set goals, develop strategies and pull through educational opportunities for high priority accounts;
  • Collaborate with field teams and contribute to strategic plans for target account growth;
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and persuasive abilities;
  • Take lead on project initiatives;
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills;
  • Provide Key Opinion Leader feedback to Bayer internal partners;
  • The ONE has responsibility for education on franchise products and must be able to communicate effectively with  many stakeholders to coordinate strategies that have impactful outcomes;
  • Interact with healthcare professionals to develop ongoing company   rapport, gain support for promoted products, and address issues;
  • Build productive internal work relationships with cross functional partners and lead in a collaborative environment;
  • Identify, build, and maintain strategic, long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), mid-level providers, and nursing professionals in the oncology community;
  • Serve as an education conduit and product expert for both internal and external business partners;
  • Maintain strong working relationships with brand teams and assist in the development of product and disease-state education pieces;
  • The territory for this role is Philadelphia, PA, which includes the following locations: Philadelphia, PA, Allentown, PA, Harrisburg, PA, and Baltimore, MD.  Candidate must reside within the territory or within reasonable commute.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current license in nursing (such as RN, NP, APN);
  • Significant clinical oncology experience;
  • Displays self-starter mentality;
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation, platform, and facilitation skills;
  • Exhibits business acumen;
  • Displays accountability for actions and results;
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and interpersonal skills;
  • Knowledge of oncology practices within geography;
  • Passionate and self-motivated individual;
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
  • At least three years of clinical oncology experience.

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $142,071- $213,106. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. 

This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
