 We have an exciting opportunity available for a Customer Engagement Lead (ANZ) to join the Bayer Pharma team.

 

Are you ready to take the next step in your career? In this leadership role, you will drive strategic customer engagement and sales excellence across Australia and New Zealand, leading an empowered, customer-centric sales function that enables Bayer to build deeper, more meaningful relationships with customers.

 

Operating through Bayer’s VACC leadership model (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach), you will enable high-quality, customer-centric engagement, while building sustainable capability across all customer-facing roles, including Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs).

As a Customer Engagement Lead, you will:

  • Lead and inspire a team of sales representatives with the right mindset to deliver high-impact, customer-centric engagement strategies that drive meaningful customer outcomes
  • Drive strategic alignment between field execution and business priorities, ensuring strong commercial and customer outcomes
  • Act as a Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coach, elevating team capability and performance
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and ethical leadership
  • Build and develop capabilities across all customer-facing roles, including MSLs, ensuring a consistent and aligned approach
  • Model and promote enterprise thinking, aligning team actions with affiliate and regional priorities
  • Adapt quickly to changing market dynamics, fostering resilience and continuous learning
  • Drive agile ways of working, enabling effective cross-functional collaboration across Commercial, Medical, and Market Access
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, placing customers at the centre of all solutions
  • Encourage inclusivity, valuing diverse perspectives in decision-making
  • Leverage data, insights, and digital tools to optimise engagement strategies and decision-making
  • Lead change initiatives in a positive, empowering, and collaborative manner

 

Does this sound like you?

 

  • Proven experience in leading and empowering high-performing teams, ideally within pharmaceutical, healthcare, or customer engagement environments
  • Strong understanding of customer engagement strategy and field execution excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to build capability and develop talent across customer-facing roles
  • Strategic mindset with ability to translate strategy into impactful execution
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels
  • Experience working in cross-functional and agile environments
  • High level of business acumen and customer-centric thinking
  • Strong coaching mindset with a passion for developing people and driving performance
  • Ability to navigate complexity and lead through change with resilience and adaptability
  • Understanding of compliance and industry standards (e.g. Medicines Australia Code of Conduct)
  • Willingness to travel across ANZ as required
