Trainee Medical signatory 

 

Position purpose 

Working with our Medical teams we are continuing to train and grow a team of Medical Final Signatories to review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials ensuring compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice, other regulatory requirements, and Bayer Standard Operating Procedures.

 

These roles will be based on 2-year fixed term contracts and will train and support successful candidates who meet the below criteria to becoming Final Signatories at Bayer.

 

Location

Site: Bayer HQ, Green Park, Reading. We work on a Hybrid working model. Regular office working is expected particularly in the early stages of this training programme. Applicants will need to live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Reading office.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Undergo a structured training program to become a fully qualified ABPI Medical Signatory. Undertake regular formal and informal review of progress.
  • Work closely with the Medical Affairs and Compliance teams to gain comprehensive understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Assist in the review and approval of promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice, other regulatory requirements, and Bayer Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of training sessions for cross functional colleagues on the ABPI Code and related compliance issues.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of training sessions for other trainee signatories on the ABPI Code and related compliance issues.
  • Keep up to date with changes in regulations and guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry and the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Support the pharmacovigilance team by assisting in the reporting of adverse events.

 

Essential qualities and skills

  • General Medical Council - registered physician with experience working in the NHS or General Pharmaceutical Council - registered pharmacist with experience working in the NHS Experience essential plus the criteria below
  • A strong desire to develop a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong desire and motivation to work specifically in medical compliance.
  • Some understanding / knowledge of the ABPI Code of conduct
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • An ability to work with cross functional teams
  • A solution-focussed mindset
  • A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
  • This is a trainee / entry level position into Medical Signatory within Pharma and at this time we will not progress those already working as medical reviewers or those with final signatory status.
