Medical Science Liaison (MSL) & Field Medical Excellence Manager, Radiology
The purpose of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) & Field Medical Excellence Manager, Radiology is to enhance the impact and efficiency of the Radiology Medical Affairs team by combining scientific engagement in the field with internal operational support. As a U.S.-based Radiology Medical Science Liaison & Field Medical Operations Manager, you will play a dual role—building trusted scientific relationships with external radiology experts while supporting the Head of Field Medical – Americas in strengthening the processes, tools, and execution of field medical activities. This hybrid position is critical in helping us deliver timely medical value to healthcare professionals and patients while ensuring field medical excellence.
This territory will cover OH, IN and MI. Candidates must live in the territory.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Medical Science Liaison (MSL) & Field Medical Excellence Manager, Radiology, are to:
- Serve as a field-based scientific and medical expert in radiology, supporting contrast media and injector portfolios;
- Develop and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), academic centers, and radiology healthcare professionals;
- Exchange scientific and clinical information in a compliant, non-promotional manner to support appropriate use of company products;
- Support company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research (IIRs) by identifying opportunities, facilitating communication, and providing medical insights;
- Attend and contribute to scientific conferences, symposia, and advisory boards as a medical representative;
- Capture and communicate field insights and emerging trends to internal stakeholders to inform medical strategy and development;
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Field Medical – Americas to drive excellence in field medical operations;
- Assist in planning and execution of field force initiatives, including field training, team communications, and performance tracking;
- Coordinate and help manage tools and systems used by the field medical team (e.g., MedCRM platform, Veeva, etc.);
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations that support field activities, KPIs, and leadership decision-making;
- Contribute to the planning and logistics of regional field medical meetings and training events;
- Serve as a point of contact for coordinating MSL onboarding, trainings, and certification process;
- Serve as a point of contact for coordination between field medical teams and other cross-functional partners such as compliance, regulatory, commercial, and clinical operations.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in a health science-related field;
- Experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development;
- Strong organizational skills with a proactive and collaborative approach to operational challenges;
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a matrix environment;
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, including field visits, internal meetings, and scientific congresses.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1+ years of industry experience;
- Exposure to radiology, contrast media, medical devices, or imaging technologies is a strong plus;
- MSL experience is preferred.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $143,334 to $215,001. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
