Southeast Sales Representative 

 

As a Vegetable Seed Field Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in expanding Bayer's market share within your designated territory. You will be responsible for creating demand for Bayer's vegetable seeds, seed growth, crop protection, and seed products among retailers, dealers, and top growers. Your efforts will contribute to achieving annual target goals within your territory and team. This role requires a proactive approach to developing and implementing dealer business plans, managing forecasts, and addressing inventory and product line demand issues. You will serve as a key business consultant, effectively selling the value of Bayer Crop Science products and demonstrating product performance against competitors. Collaboration with pod-mate FSRs, Bayer Agronomists, and Market Development Representatives is essential to maximize services and sales to preferred growers and key customer accounts.

This role will cover Thomasville, GA.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve assigned sales targets with Bayer products in coordination with pod-mates;
  • Develop and implement dealer business plans, manage forecasting, inventory, and product line demand issues;
  • Serve as the key business consultant to retailers and dealers, effectively selling the value of Bayer Crop Science products;
  • Demonstrate proof of product performance against competitors by championing Bayer brands and product/technical/agronomic knowledge;
  • Collaborate with pod-mate FSRs, Bayer Agronomists, and Market Development Representatives to maximize services and sales;
  • Actively manage inventory concerns to ensure business objectives are met while anticipating demand and potential bottlenecks;
  • Gather, assimilate, and analyze market and competitive information to drive business decisions;
  • Develop and recommend strategies for achieving long and short-term business plans for key accounts and assigned areas;
  • Manage expenses, discretionary dollars, and program payments per Bayer Crop Science policy;
  • Mentor and coach earlier-in-career FSRs and manage relationships with top growers and retailers;
  • Travel approximately 60% to meet business objectives.

WHO YOU ARE:

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated product, portfolio, and agronomic knowledge preferred;
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral, and written);
  • Demonstrated initiative, assertiveness, and ability to drive results;
  • Excellent business acumen, account planning, influencing, and critical thinking skills;
  • Financial, time, and territory management expertise;
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced and matrixed environment;
  • Strong computer and presentation skills (proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Demonstrated digital acumen and ability to analyze data to influence decisions;
  • Willingness to travel and live/work in a rural environment;
  • Proven interest in supporting collaboration and teamwork within a pod structure;
  • Ability to pass a driving record background check (i.e., moving violations, accidents).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • 6+ years of experience in sales, marketing, account management, or agriculture.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $90,640.00 - 135,960.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
