Agronomic Services at Bayer Seed & Traits is dedicated to unlocking the full potential of our portfolio by elevating customer experience and accelerating innovation in growers’ fields. We combine commercial research, agronomic expertise, and data‑driven approaches to ensure consistent product launch and positioning. As a strategic bridge between R&D and Product & Customer Teams, we bring innovation to real‑world grower conditions and generate actionable insights. This role is part of the Analytics & Modeling squad, responsible for generating insights and supporting data‑driven decisions through analytics and automation, within a diverse, collaborative, and flexible environment

YOUR MISSION WILL BE TO:

• Build, test, and deploy ML models (classification, regression, optimization, recommendation).
• Create scalable training pipelines and batch/real-time inference flows.
• Convert prototype notebooks into sustainable, production-level services.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for ML models and datasets.
• Implement model performance monitoring, data drift, and feature drift detection.
• Build and maintain feature stores and model registries.
• Collaborate closely with Data/Analytics Engineers to define feature pipelines and data flows.
• Ensure data quality, reproducibility, and version control for ML workloads.
• Participate in system architecture decisions for data and model services.
• Optimize model training and inference (computational efficiency, latency, memory usage).
• Apply distributed processing techniques when needed (Spark, Ray, multi-node training).
• Deploy ML services in the cloud using microservices, containers, and API endpoints.
• Document models, assumptions, data dependencies, and operational procedures.
• Ensure compliance with fairness, security, and governance standards.
• Contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices.

ARE YOU READY FOR THE POSITION?

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Engineering, or related field.
• Background in data engineering, systems development, or related functions.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and major ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong experience building and operating ML workflows in the cloud (AWS SageMaker preferred).
• Solid foundation in software engineering (Git, testing, CI/CD, design patterns).
• Hands-on experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, Feast or similar).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed computing (Spark, Ray) and pipeline design.
• Ability to design system architecture and make scalable technical decisions.
• Knowledge of data governance, quality, security, and compliance principles.
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese for regional collaboration.
• Key behavioral skills: clear communication with diverse stakeholders, autonomy, problem-solving, prioritization in agile cycles (90 days), and ability to mentor peers.
