Main Purpose

To support and execute key programs and initiatives while ensuring local HSE legal compliance through audits; lead the Road Safety Program for the Southern Cone; and develop innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks, operating effectively in a remote environment with colleagues and leadership based outside of Chile.

 

Your mission will be to

 

  • Promote safe behavior across all sites.
  • Influence leadership during incident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Advise on methods to control potential hazards and risks.
  • Monitor the implementation of safety plans and objectives.
  • Track and analyze safety systems using technology (Power BI, etc.).
  • Communicate safety plans and strategies in a timely manner.
  • Recommend preventive practices (recycling, waste disposal, pollution control, green office initiatives).
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the South Cone and globally.
  • Measure and audit the effectiveness of hazard control programs.
  • Develop future safety plans based on past performance and insights.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements, ISO 45001/14001, and Bayer standards; update the legal matrix.
  • Maintain and update HSE procedures, programs, and emergency response (elevated work, confined spaces, electrical safety, hot work, LOTO, etc.).
  • Coordinate and monitor tasks related to the Medical Service and Health Plan.
  • Collect and upload annual environmental data into Intelex.
  • Act as focal point for the Road Safety Program in the South Cone and represent the region in Americas and South Cone committees.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and support audits for tollers.
  • Oversee Telematics data collection and ensure proper device functionality.

 

Unlock your potential

  • University Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field (mandatory).
  • Postgraduate studies in Occupational Health, Safety or Environment (preferred).
  • Intermediate computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Intermediate English, including ability to participate in calls.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills.
  • Fast and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Relevant previous experience in similar roles.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to remote leadership and distributed teams.
