Regional Account Director - St. Louis, MO
As a Regional Account Director (RAD), you build and maintain effective long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at major health systems, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), medical groups and other strategic customers across St. Louis, Indianapolis, Central Illinois and the surrounding areas;
You create demand for Bayer’s innovative cardiovascular and renal therapies by identifying and developing new opportunities, aligning customer needs with on-label solutions and orchestrating cross-functional implementation at the health system level;
You drive access, adoption and sustained utilization of Kerendia® while preparing for and supporting the anticipated launch of a novel investigational therapy being studied for secondary stroke prevention, ensuring appropriate patient access and impact across your region;
You collaborate closely with your Area General Manager, National Account Directors, Sales, Market Access, HEOR, Marketing and Medical colleagues to shape and execute cohesive account strategies that advance Bayer’s mission of “Health for all, hunger for none” and deliver meaningful value for customers and patients;
You are based within the territory, traveling up to approximately 50% to engage deeply with customers, understand their evolving priorities and act as a trusted strategic partner across the St. Louis, Indianapolis, Central Illinois and surrounding markets.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Regional Account Director, are to:;
- Ensure integration and on-label access for Bayer’s cardiovascular renal (CVR) portfolio within account-level decision-making platforms (for example, EMRs, formularies, pathways, order sets and related tools), using on-label resources and cross-functional support to drive top-down demand at the enterprise level;
- Develop and execute strategic, medium- to long-range account plans across the enterprise and lead implementation in close alignment with Medical, Market Access, Sales Leadership and other cross-functional partners;
- Coordinate local pull-through of account strategies by mobilizing cross-functional Bayer teams to achieve short- and long-term account objectives and sales goals;
- Identify and cultivate key decision makers, advocates and clinical and business champions across health systems and IDNs to achieve shared outcomes and account-level goals;
- Build strong, compliant partnerships with accounts to identify opportunities that expand appropriate use of Bayer’s CVR portfolio, enhance care pathways and improve both patient and provider experience;
- Partner with National Account Directors and cross-functional colleagues to shape and execute national and area-wide pull-through strategies, ensuring consistent implementation across assigned systems;
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive dynamics and account performance to inform strategy, refine execution and share insights across the broader Bayer team;
- Champion a collaborative, one-team mindset by working across therapeutic areas and roles to fully leverage collective knowledge, resources and capabilities within each account.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:;
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Proven experience building networks and relationships with stakeholders across IDNs, health systems and key accounts, with demonstrated success in strategic account management;
- Experience launching new products or indications and leading strategic planning and execution at the account or health system level;
- Outstanding facilitation, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead without authority and influence cross-functional, matrixed teams;
- Strong understanding of customer channels, evolving market dynamics and business insights relevant to health systems and IDNs;
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel within the territory, including up to approximately 50% overnight travel as business needs require;
- Ability to meet customer credentialing and safety requirements (for example, required vaccinations and mandated trainings).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree, preferably in Life Sciences, Pharmacy or a business-related field;
- At least 5 years of successful Account Management experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare-related field, including 3 or more years focused on IDN or Hospital channels;
- Experience establishing and pulling through in-patient to out-patient protocols across complex health systems.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $163,200 - $244,800. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
