Bank Accounting Associate 

 
   
   

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • The Bank Accounting Associate role is responsible for supporting the effective and quality performance of bank accounting activities within the agreed activity split and service level agreement. The incumbent possesses foundational knowledge of the sub-processes and system understanding and is additionally responsible for assisting in business process training.
  • Supports the timely and accurate processing of bank statements according to standard process documentation (i.e., Bank Statement Posting, Transitory Bank Account Clearing, and Bank Account Maintenance).
  • Aids in month-end closing activities to ensure preliminary financial statements are accurate and aligned with accounting standards.
  • Participates in discussions on operational-related topics during stakeholder calls/meetings, providing insights as necessary.
  • Assists with Internal Control System (ICS) controls (TBA OI and Bank Recon) and responds to audit and ICS requests and concerns. 
  • Identifies potential issues at the assigned sub-process level and collaborates with experts on sub-process issues.
  • Contributes to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and gathering insights.
  • Adheres to accounting standards, policies, and procedures to guarantee regulatory compliance and accuracy.
  • Develops a fundamental knowledge of the sub-process to enable effective communication within the team.
  • Assists in monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for operational performance enhancement.
  • Supports team members in defining outcomes and outputs based on stakeholder needs, facilitating regular team meetings and feedback sessions.
  • Promotes an inclusive work environment that encourages team engagement and development.
  • Assists in analyzing resource allocation and activity reassignment as needed to maintain efficiency.
  • Aims for timely and accurate delivery of bank accounting activities.
  • Involved in the review of documentation (e.g., Desktop Procedures) to ensure it reflects current practices.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

  • Graduate of Accountancy or a related course.
  • 0-1 year of professional experience in accounting functions; familiarity with SAP is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Driven, motivated, and adaptable to changes in a dynamic environment.
