HSE Technician

Purpose: Ensure the implementation of HSE procedures in the site’s operational processes through daily gemba reviews and coaching for operational leaders across all site processes. Provide support to processes on HSE matters to improve the HSE performance of each unit.

Key Tasks: 

-Perform HSE “Train the Trainer” training for all site employees.

· Supervise operations to maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and health policies and procedures.

· Perform purchasing and inventory control of PPE for the region (approximately USD 100K).

· Conduct cross-checking audits in HSE-related processes and present KPIs and strategies to site operations.

· Influence process leaders to execute safety initiatives and maintain zero injury incidents.

· Conduct internal ISO and equivalent audits.

· Conduct incident investigations to identify root causes and support the development of action plans to prevent recurrence.

· Be responsible for the Intelex communication system, following up on overdue safety suggestions and near-miss investigations.

· Be responsible for updating operation-related safety procedures in accordance with current local and international regulations.

· Actively participate in the implementation of the production system (One PSS), leading and advising on HSE matters and serving as a key promoter of change management at the site.

· Periodically participate in regional networks, ensuring standardization of best practices.

· Lead, promote, and support continuous improvement projects with financial impact.

· Participate as an instructor in annual safety training for plant operations.

· Coordinate efforts with process leaders to correct safety findings by promoting meetings to discuss ideas and solve problems.

· Coordinate and establish parameter-control strategies for the site’s oxidation ponds, demonstrating improvements through KPIs.

· Coordinate and establish site waste-control strategies, demonstrating improvements through KPIs.

· Coordinate and establish strategies to control and comply with site legal requirements for safety, health, and environment.

· Develop relationships with municipal, state, and federal government agencies to carry out proceedings and license applications required for site operation.

· Develop and lead the safe-work strategy for contractors in engineering projects and routine work, with the objective of preventing occupational accidents and complying with applicable current legislation.

· Develop campaigns that strengthen the site’s preventive HSE culture.

· Receive planned or unplanned visits from municipal, state, and federal authorities on HSE matters.

· Develop continuous improvement projects that generate savings in the purchase of supplies required to operate safely.

· Follow up on the site emergency response program, participate in the strategy and monitoring of site critical devices, ensuring their proper operation.

· Act as an operational discipline agent by detecting deviations from safety procedures.
