Junior DevOps Engineer 

We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer!

As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you will be a part of Bayer's Customer Engagement Team. You will work on improving our 'System and Data Integration Capabilities'.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the development and maintenance of infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform under senior guidance
• Assist in infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to cross-team collaboration using the Backstage platform
• Support the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for application deployments
• Assist in implementing automated testing processes and help maintain continuous integration workflows
• Help configure and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems, and respond to alerts under supervision
• Support the integration of security scanning tools into CI/CD pipelines and assist with vulnerability remediation
• Participate in troubleshooting infrastructure and application incidents, escalating complex issues to senior team members as needed
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure components, runbooks and operational procedures
• Assist in code reviews and provide feedback to peers
• Research and evaluate new tools and technologies

WHO YOU ARE:

• Scripting skills (Bash, Python or similar).
• Understanding Linux/Unix administration fundamentals.
• 1-2 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering or related role.
• Knowledge of version control systems (like Git, GitHub, GitLab, ADO).
• Basic knowledge and experience with any Cloud Provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, OVH, Vercel).
• Exposure to Infrastructure as a Code (like Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi etc).
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Foundational knowledge in automation and CI/CD concepts with exposure to GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Basic understanding of containerization technology and orchestration.
• Basic experience or coursework involving monitoring solutions like AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus metrics (like DataDog, Grafana) or Open Telemetry.
• Good experience in developing streaming integration solutions, especially with focus on Kafka and AWS Kinesis.
