Lead Cyber Security Engineer

 

We are seeking a highly qualified Lead Cyber Security Engineer to take a leadership role in our Vulnerability Management Team, focusing on web scanning, tool evaluation, and integration into ServiceNow. In this critical position, the engineer will be responsible for guiding projects and teams to enhance our security posture by assessing and implementing effective security tools and processes. The ideal candidate will possess advanced development skills and a comprehensive understanding of web vulnerabilities and security technologies.

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
 

  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of web scanning tools to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities effectively.
  • Oversee the integration of security tools into ServiceNow to facilitate streamlined vulnerability management processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance security processes and workflows.
  • Develop automation scripts and solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on cybersecurity best practices and tool utilization.
  • Experience in the field of cybersecurity, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in tool evaluation and integration. A commitment to continuous improvement in security practices is essential for success in this role.

 

Qualifications & Competencies (education, skills, experience):
 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field; relevant work experience may be considered an equivalent.
  • Proven experience in leading the implementation of security solutions, with a strong focus on automation in vulnerability management processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of vulnerability assessment and management tools, including configuring and optimizing their use for maximum efficiency.
  • Hands-on experience with web application security assessments, cloud security, and penetration testing, alongside red team and incident response methodologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and information security management frameworks, such as ISO 27000, COBIT, and NIST 800 series, and their application in automation strategies.
  • Proficient in scripting and programming languages to automate security processes and integrate security tools into development workflows.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Vulnerability Response to streamline vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Strong understanding of network monitoring, vulnerability detection, and incident response automation to enhance security posture.
  • Deep knowledge of web security principles and common vulnerabilities, enabling effective risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to convey complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.
