Lead DevOps Engineer 

We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer!

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be a part of Bayer's Customer Engagement Team. You will work on improving our 'System and Data Integration Capabilities'.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform.
• Design infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, containerization, and orchestration using tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Design and implement a concept for cross-team collaboration using Backstage.
• Guide development of CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions to enable seamless deployment of applications and services
• Guide Implementation of automated testing and continuous integration processes to ensure code quality and reliability
• Design monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to understand their needs and provide DevOps support
• Advocate for and implement DevOps best practices within the organization
• Ensure infrastructure and application security by implementing best practices and compliance standards using Hashicorp Vault and Microsoft Entra ID

WHO YOU ARE:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
• 7+ years experience as a DevOps engineer.
• Excellent experience with Composable Architecture principles, especially on an API first strategy.
• Excellent proficiency with the AWS cloud platform with focus on infrastructure as code using Hashicorp Terraform.
• Basic knowledge in Backstage Configurations & Operations.
• Excellent knowledge in automation with CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions.
• Good knowledge in Kubernetes development and operations with focus on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service.
• Good knowledge in security concept with focus on operations of Hashicorp Vault and using OpenID Connect using Microsoft Entra ID for authentication and authorization.
• Good knowledge in designing and operating streaming data integration using technologies like Kafka and AWS Kinesis
• Good knowledge in orchestrating AWS cloud services using AWS Step Functions, AWS Simple Queue Service and Apache Airflow
• Basic experience cloud monitoring solutions like AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus or OpenTelemetry
