Senior Legal Counsel in Crop Science division 

 

As a Senior Legal Counsel in the Crop Science Division, you play a crucial role in providing legal and compliance support to all operational areas within the division, including the Baltic Region. You report directly to the LPC Head CEE (RAF) and are an integral member of the Crop Science Country Group Leadership Team, where you collaborate with teams across Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the Baltics. Your expertise ensures that Bayer's LPC processes and internal regulations are adhered to, maintaining compliance within the legal framework of Poland. You will work closely with the globally defined processes and best practices of the LPC function and coordinate various legal activities.

 

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations across Crop Science operations;
  • Draft and review contracts, memoranda, opinions, and other legal documents;
  • Identify and address legal and compliance risks, implementing risk-mitigating measures;
  • Coordinate legal activities related to business transactions and litigation;
  • Manage litigation processes, ensuring strategic alignment and representation by outside counsel;
  • Advise management on court or government decisions and pending regulatory developments;
  • Negotiate with legal representatives of customers, trade associations, and government agencies;
  • Provide legal direction on special projects such as acquisitions and joint ventures;
  • Offer support on local aspects of new business models, including e-commerce and agency models.

 

Who You Are:

  • Hold a university degree or equivalent from an accredited law school; ideally a certified lawyer;
  • Polish law knowledge - must have
  • Fluent in spoken and written English;
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in progressively responsible positions;
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and life sciences law, with experience in the life sciences sector - must have
  • Skilled in managing cross-departmental projects within complex, international settings;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and cases simultaneously;
  • Independent in working with legal documents and agreements in the pharmaceutical industry;
  • Strong analytical skills with a pro-business approach and customer orientation;
  • Effective communication and messaging skills to build long-term partnerships.
