Digital Lead - Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Digital Lead – Medical Affairs & Pharmacovigilance, are to:

  • Act as trusted advisor and single point of contact for IT related topics in the area of MAPV;
  • Direct all IT/Digital efforts in the respective functional area to ensure the maximum value creation for our customers and company;
  • Build trust to influence strategic direction and align on business outcomes to be achieved through digital investments; 
  • Provide strategic input and transformation roadmap to corporate IT strategy;
  • Prepare and conduct management presentations;
  • Evangelize digital change throughout respective area and drive digital agenda (e.g. digital transformation);
  • Identify value potential through digital business models;
  • Translate business strategy and priorities into technology & data focus areas/investments;
  • Scout the respective industry for transformative trends and consult on their value;
  • Ensure delivery of business outcomes and digital roadmap through partnership with IT/digital delivery platforms;
  • Align, prioritize and drive support for the IT portfolio and the full set of investments in functional area;
  • For their respective functional area, own the associated Digital project portfolio;
  • Ensure superior external customer and business proximity as well as user orientation;
  • When applicable, support relevant M&A activities around data & technology;
  • Co-develop and co-own the functional strategies in the respective area with a focus on driving a major transformation of our company towards the leading customer and digital driven company in our industry;
  • Accountable for the execution of the digital strategy in their area of responsibility;
  • This role is located in Whippany, NJ.  Relocation assistance may be offered for this role.

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree (Bachelors or Masters) in computer science, science, medicine or an equivalent qualification; 
  • Strong business acumen and external market knowledge in the area of Medical Affairs & Pharmacovigilance and experience with current challenges/digital innovations in the area;
  • Significant contributions in digital innovation and design thinking.
  • Several years of customer-facing work in IT and/or business functions;
  • Experienced in multidisciplinary strategic IT portfolio development and planning;
  • Experience leading a growth organization with increasing scale and dynamic operations; 
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented person with strong initiative skills;
  • Communication, organization and influencing skills, while demonstrating business insight with a strategic and innovative mindset;
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity;
  • Fluency in English language, both written and spoken;
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment;
  • Problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve digital product strategy based on research, data and industry trends;
  • Ability to think strategically about technology and execute as necessary.
