Director, Portfolio Marketing

As the Director, Portfolio Marketing, you will support the execution of commercial strategy and key brand initiatives across Bayer’s Precision and Targeted Oncology portfolio, including Vitrakvi, Sevabertinib, and Stivarga. Vitrakvi is a groundbreaking treatment for TRK fusion-positive solid tumors and the first therapy approved across all solid tumors, for both adult and pediatric patients. Sevabertinib, once approved, will address unmet needs in HER2 mutant non-small cell lung cancer. Stivarga is an established treatment with continued relevance in refractory metastatic colorectal cancer and gastrointestinal stromal tumors.

 

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to drive brand execution, tactical planning, and customer engagement in close collaboration with Field Sales, LMR, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other partners. You will play a critical role in supporting brand and portfolio performance, aligning internal stakeholders, and ensuring operational excellence in a dynamic and competitive oncology environment. As part of the broader portfolio team consisting of Oncology, Hematology, Cardiovascular, and other established brands, you will work in a highly empowered and entrepreneurial environment. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build enterprise leadership skills by working across multiple therapeutic areas (beyond oncology) and drive business impact on brands at various stages of lifecycle.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Lead development of branded campaigns, promotional materials, and non-personal promotion (NPP) tactics tailored to HCPs and aligned with brand strategy and insights;
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Customer Engagement team by delivering high-impact messaging, resources, and field training tools; gather and act on field insights to optimize in-market execution;
  • Drive effective and efficient engagement with PRT partners to develop and approve promotional assets that are compliant and strategically sound;
  • Work across Market Access, Medical Affairs, Insights, Digital, and Regulatory to ensure cohesive brand planning, alignment, and execution;
  • Translate market research, performance data, and field feedback into actionable marketing strategies and brand differentiation;
  • Lead key aspects of launch readiness for Sevabertinib, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver pre-launch education, promotional readiness, and executional planning;
  • Manage agency relationships, track tactical execution, and oversee budget performance and KPI reporting across brands;
  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior team members, fostering development, accountability, and a high-performance culture;
  • Act as a role model for enterprise thinking – connecting the dots across brands and functions, embracing innovation, and approaching challenges with a growth mindset.

WHO YOU ARE:

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred;
  • 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with 3–5 years in HCP brand marketing;
  • Oncology experience required, ideally in targeted or precision therapies;
  • Deep understanding of field collaboration, LMR review, and cross-functional execution;
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action and drive measurable results;
  • Proven success in coaching, mentoring, or managing direct or indirect reports;
  • Ability to influence in a matrixed environment with strong communication and leadership skills;
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, high-accountability environments;
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $160,465.60 - $240,698.40.  Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. 

This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
