Senior Manager HEOR Strategy 

 

The purpose of this position, Senior Manager HEOR Strategy is to advise the research strategic planning relative to HEOR and RWE in close collaboration with the CVR team within US Medical Affairs, in order to assist in setting strategy around the development and execution of health economics, outcomes research, and real world evidence across the pharma portfolio for the US. US research strategies are essential for generating research studies and findings critical to supporting appropriate formulary coverage, pricing, reimbursement, and utilization across the US healthcare system.

 

The Senior Manager HEOR Strategy will be responsible for working with the CVR MA team in the development and implementation of a data generation research strategy for the CVR Therapeutic Area (CVR). This will include the conduct of outcomes research studies in close collaboration with other functional areas in U.S. Medical Affairs, U.S. Market Access, Global Integrated Evidence Generation, Global Market Access, and more. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for advising on the conduct and design of all external collaborative studies conducted with key customers, academics, and/or institutions.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Manager HEOR Strategy, are to:

 

  • Data Generation research strategy including development of study design & conduct, identification of data source, and publication plan;
  • Participation in the strategic planning for all CVR pharma products in order to build and execute research projects in support of documenting an economic value story for these products. This research supports the economic argument around the addition of Bayer products to formularies across the US healthcare industry which is critical to the success of products in the US;
  • Assist in the development of research budgets and assist in management of budgeted funds in conjunction with VP, CVR and extended team;
  • Ensuring execution of all research studies in compliance with Bayer SOPs and all other compliance measures;
  • Ensuring execution of all research studies according to defined study timelines as well as budgets;
  • Monitor relevant Data Generation related US policy relevant to TA;
  • Participate in business planning and annual budgeting process;
  • Jointly develop and manage research partnerships with academia, thought leaders, managed care and other customers, and contract research organizations;
  • Attend and present at professional meetings.

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in working collaboratively with research teams with constant interface with business units as well as managed markets executives is required;
  • Pharm.D. or M.Sc. required in healthcare related discipline;
  • Strong understanding of current US Healthcare system a must;
  • Knowledge of HEOR disciplines including drafting clinical & HO documents (i.e. clinical protocols, clinical reports, integrated summaries and/or a clinical development plans) as well as an in-depth understanding of clinical statistics and evidenced based medicine;
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently;
  • Excellent strategic thinking;
  • Clear demonstration of Business Acumen;
  • Demonstrates clear leadership and the ability to interact and work cross functionally;
  • Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships;
  • Travel 20-30% both local in US but also international.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong clinical & scientific expertise in multiple therapeutic areas, with focus on CVR-related conditions preferred;
  • A least 1 year of industry experience.
