Sr. Director, Field Operations Strategy

As we advance our operating model towards Dynamic Shared Ownership with an even stronger focus on customer-oriented and mission-based work, the goal of the Field Operations Strategy function is to shape and advance our ways of working between the Customer Engagement (field teams) and Product Squads (brand teams) and enabling partners, with the objective to ensure that Customer Engagement teams are enabled through customer-centric content, programs, and capabilities.
The Sr. Director, Field Operations Strategy is a Whippany-based role that reports into the VP, Field Operations and is aligned to a Product Squad (Asundexian) and the leadership teams across the key enabling partners for the Customer Engagement team. You will advance our field team priorities, culture, and overall impact by driving key national customer engagement initiatives in partnership with a broad cross-functional team, driving field force effectiveness through data-driven insights, strategic execution, and fostering a high-performance culture.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shape and evolve national Field Operations strategy for Customer Squads, including go-to-market and deployment requirements for Asundexian;
- Integrate Customer Engagement squads (field teams) and Product Squads (brand teams) needs into 90-day planning cycles, ensuring customer-centric program and capability development;
- Lead communication strategies and execution between brand teams, field teams, and enabling functions to drive commercial strategy execution, including national POAs;
- Advance national programs, content, and capabilities based on customer insights in partnership with Customer Engagement Area VPs and Excellence teams;
- Lead and optimize national Customer Missions and cross-functional mission teams, contributing to program and capability advancements, including STEM assessments;
- Drive adoption of field-facing systems and tools (e.g., Veeva CRM, reporting, digital assets, SF CRM, Field Connect, MVA, BACC) to support impactful field execution and operational efficiencies;
- Shape and execute national launch strategies for Asundexian and operationalize aligned cross-functional go-to-market models, including indication launches and pre-launch team participation;
- Simplify, harmonize, and drive operational efficiency across all Asundexian Customer Engagement squads by establishing consistent ways of working, content, program, and capability requirements;
- Support field force effectiveness by driving actionable intelligence, including prioritization, segmentation, data-driven planning, optimized resource use, pre-call planning, and improved tool adoption;
- Strengthen high performance culture by supporting capability development, coaching insights, performance transparency, and continuous improvement;
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Product, Portfolio, Customer Engagement, Operations, and enabling teams to ensure unified execution and strategic alignment;
- Ensure full alignment and transparency across team members by actively participating in the Integrated Product Team;
- Establish and advance national programs, suggestions, and capabilities within global and local operating models based on customer needs, in close collaboration with Customer Engagement AVPs and Excellence teams;
- Support critical Customer Missions across US Pharma.
WHO YOU ARE:
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred;
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare commercial roles;
- Strong understanding of operations, field strategy, and cross-functional interdependencies;
- Ability to translate field insights into simple, scalable processes and systems;
- Strong prioritization, leadership, and communication skills;
- Project management excellence and ability to operate under short timelines;
- Experience with data-driven decision-making, performance management, and field effectiveness frameworks;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality where appropriate;
- Ability to travel as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in institutional and account-based commercialization preferred;
- Experience in commercialization of antithrombotics or anticoagulants preferred.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $202,000.00 - $303,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
This role will be eligible for an enhanced employee referral bonus.
