VP Regional Quality Lead

The Purpose of the VP Quality Lead will be Overarching VACC Leadership of the Quality Capability Homes supporting the North America and LATAM Regions and member of the Global Quality Leadership Team in Consumer Health globally.  Ensure strategic state-of-the- art provision of the required Quality capabilities to the work teams support the NA and LATAM regions (Americas), providing the high-level vision and coaching to the capability home as needed to ensure value-creation for clients and consumers.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads a large Quality team supporting internal key CH factories and external manufacturers across these two regions for Bayer CH. Ensuring the compliance, performance and ongoing product supply of Bayer manufacturing sites and Contract Manufacturing organizations (CMOs) critical to the business within the region including:

• Co-creating and implementing the Divisional and Regional Strategy and Quality Frame for a large and complex region;
• Driving high level strategic solutions to compliance problems as they arise with urgency to minimize disruption to customers and consumers - and working proactively with the teams to predict and avoid compliance risks prospectively, avoiding supply interruptions;
• Providing key business strategic insights in the vendor selection and approval process to ensure quality risks are objectively and clearly articulated to the business prior to vendor approval, with supporting practical remediation plans, timelines and costs;
• Key accountability for the Compliance to GMP, Regulatory and Internal Bayer standards and Quality performance of large sites to ensure the continued manufacture and supply of Global brands generating over €3 billion per year in Net Revenue;
• Leadership of a large Quality team (approx. 425 people) responsible for internal manufacturing and CMO management;
• Quality performance of 4 critical internal manufacturing sites and over 50 external CMOs with a wide range of product dosage forms and regulatory classifications;
• Provide subject matter Quality expertise, and agility, initiative and a solution focus to the business through a highly complex cultural and Regulatory landscape operating in over 30 countries and supporting over 1000 product licenses;
• Provide Senior leadership and direction and support on Quality and business events as the point of accountability for the Consumer Healthcare division in the regions;
• Significant, high value interaction and communication to Senior stakeholders within the region across multiple functions and levels of the business on Quality performance for the region;
• Provides both strategic leadership and direct operational / tactic management of the Quality teams responsible for internal manufacturing sites and CMO management;
• Partnership with key stakeholders (such as Product Supply, Regulatory, Commercial, R&D) on creating and driving a regional Quality strategy and advantage for the region that compliments the overall business strategy;
• The implementation and performance of Bayer Quality KPIs and QMS performance across the region;
• Ensures the communication and interaction with multiple Health Authorities across a complex Regulatory landscape takes place flawlessly to ensure new product launching.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

• Proven GMDP leadership capability in the region and operational experience in a manufacturing (factory) environment are mandatory for this role;
• Highly experienced in QMS maintenance and governance, performance, and compliance KPIs and effective management reviews;
• The ability to develop fit for purpose organizational structures in a cost-effective manner highlighting Span of Coaching, ensure right layers are in place with the highest effectiveness and efficiency manner;
• Management of large headcounts, project investments, and financial budgets;
• Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is preferable;
• More than 10 years’ experience across international Quality standards (cGMP, GDP, ISO) and Health Authorities interaction.
