What You Will Do

 

Crew Members are key members of our team and work to ensure the highest quality products at the front-end of operations. They work across all areas of our Seed Production, Processing, Packaging, and Inventory activities. They work closely with and support multiple functions within the site and are a key element in delivering the pipeline on time and in full.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Be self-motivated, perform with minimal to no supervision.
  • Be a positive influence on workflows and site initiatives for Crew Members and Seasonal Employees towards KPIs (Key Performance Metrics).
  • Provide daily direction to Crew Members and Seasonal Employees.
  • Communicate work area progress to team members, Seed Technicians, and site leadership.
  • Be competent in safety and quality programs.
  • Train new employees (bilingual) and peers in safety, quality, site operations, and equipment;
  • Completes all required audits or inspections timely and report any issues as needed;
  • Perform high-quality work with minimal to no errors or re-work and safety.
  • Has a continuous improvement mindset, and can recognize opportunities for improvement, problem solve current work related area issues, and brainstorm/implement solutions.
  • Operate and train team members on work area equipment, which may include but is not limited to tractors, harvesters, shellers, sprayers, counters, flex fillers, sewing machines, and irrigation equipment as applicable.
  • Proficient in current technologies; collect date, enter data, and train other team members.
  • Understands work area data and can identify and address data issues/discrepancies.
  • Responsible for pedigree system access and data input.
  • Lead or assist in other projects and duties as required or assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent + 2 years of related experience OR 4+ years of related experience;
  • Valid Iowa Driver’s License and meet company driver criteria;
  • Able to understand & communicate effectively, both verbally & written;
  • Able to learn applicable technology, to include (but not limited to) handheld devices and desktop computers;
  • Able to function both individually and as a member of a team;
  • Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) with the ability to meet overtime demands including occasional shift work, weekends, and holidays;
  • Willing and able to work in a variety of areas including the seed processing facility, fields, an/or warehouse environment. Frequent walking and standing is required on flat and uneven surfaces. This can include frequent work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions;
  • Able to climb ladders and occasionally perform elevated work.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 40-50 lbs regularly;
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience;
  • Bilingual;
  • CDL or ability to obtain a CDL license.

 

This role will expire on January 1st, 2026.  

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary $24.82 per hour. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
