Nurse Practitioner
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Nurse Practitioner, are:
- Perform injury assessment & treatment in accordance with Operating Procedures following guidance of NAOM;
- Lead and supervise local medical provider, referral, documentation, notification, and management of worker abilities;
- Ensure proper documentation of clinical encounters, occupational incidents, fitness for duty, and medical surveillance programs on the electronic medical records system (Cority);
- Collaborate with external (Occupational) health care providers and local health agencies to protect the health and well-being of our team members;
- Provide technical knowledge, expertise and consultative support to the site in management of issues related to injury investigation, chemical & pesticide exposure, ergonomics, and other safety programs as requested by the site;
- Supervise (onboarding, training, supervision) additional Nursing and First Aid Responders support;
- Maintain the implementation and execution of compliance programs related to medical fitness for duty including OSHA, DOT, ADA, and Bayer Occupational Medicine requirements;
- Conduct on site physicals in compliance with the DOT regulations and procedures while maintaining DOT Certification;
- Ensure appropriate inclusion of potentially exposed workers in medical surveillance programs as required by local laws and company requirement, as well as full implementation of the applicable medical surveillance programs;
- Implement fitness for duty assessment programs; including coordination of assessments (Preplacement, Periodic, Return to Work, Fitness for Duty Exams, Substance Use Disorder Policy Compliance), outcomes and follow-ups in coordination with HR Benefits, Bayer Risk Management (if applicable), and third-party administrator for short-term disability in compliance with HR policies;
- Support site Emergency Response Plan (including Bloodborne Pathogen and Contagious Disease exposure prevention) to provide support in case of medical emergency in the workplace;
- Ensure workers’ education about relevant OM issues;
- Work closely with Sedgwick – Short Term Disability vendor providing case management;
- Adhere to all medical-legal aspects of confidentiality, medical records management, and professional ethics;
- Adhere to documentation, reporting, communication, and data management expectations using Cority & Intelex;
- Knowledge of and experience with W/C, OSHA, HIPPA, GINA, and ADA standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited NP program with Board Certification;
- State Medical Licensure AANP Certification;
- Certification in BLS;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- The ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- DOT/FMCSA Medical Examiner Certification
- COHC Certification
- Experience in emergency medicine, primary care, or occupational health;
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
