Associate Prinicpal Scientist (all genders) - Early Analytics & Biopharmacy
As an Associate Principal Scientist (all genders) for Early Analyics and Biopharmacy, you drive the implementation of analytical methods for state-of-the-art developability assessment in drug substance and drug product development and advance the scientific understanding of biopharmacy to enable candidate and formulation strategy selection. As the CMC representative in research teams, you scientifically lead a laboratory and collaborate closely with internal and external partners worldwide. The position is part of early CMC Development and offers you the opportunity to utilize your scientific leadership skills.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- You drive the implementation of analytical methods for developability assessment of synthetic modalities for drug substance and drug product development (e.g. HPLC/MS, dissolution testing, spectroscopic, and light scattering assays)
- A key part of your role is to advance the scientific understanding of biopharmacy to support candidate selection and formulation strategies
- You act as the CMC representative within research teams, facilitating collaboration with both internal and external partners
- You are responsible for scientific leadership of a laboratory including work allocation and feedback discussion to foster a productive work environment
- You train and mentor new scientists as well as supervise scientific collaborations (PhD, master students)
- You design, coordinate, and evaluate complex and diverse analytical experiments and studies
- You continuously drive digitalization, develop and optimize analytical methods, and in-silico tools to enhance research capabilities
- You drive scientific collaboration with external partners such as CROs and universities
WHO YOU ARE
- You are a pharmacist holding a PhD with focus on analytics and biopharmacy, or possess an equivalent qualification
- You have several years of professional experience in analytical development as well as a deep understanding of drug product development and biopharmacy
- You bring a high level of scientific expertise in dissolution methods and solid state characterization, particularly in the context of developing oral dosage forms
- You maintain a strong academic and professional network that enhances collaboration and innovation in your field
- You are committed to continuous professional growth and the advancement of scientific research
- Your strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams make you stand out
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English round off your profile; German is beneficial
