Senior Scientist (all genders) - DNA-Encoded Library Screening

We continue to grow our capabilities within Drug Discovery Sciences and are seeking a creative, experienced and highly motivated Research Scientist to join our team in Wuppertal, Germany.
The DNA-Encoded Library (DEL) Team as part of Drug Discovery Sciences was founded with the mission leverage modern lead finding approaches to discover new chemical matter for validation of biological targets as well as optimal starting points for drug discovery programs. We are a dynamic, highly motivated and diverse team that collaborates closely with the drug discovery community along the R&D value chain as well as with our external partners. Our new operating model “Dynamic Shared Ownership” will allow you to generate maximum impact, focus on what is important and innovate in an agile and collaborative way.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive DNA-encoded library (DEL) campaigns to identify lead molecules as starting points for drug discovery campaigns leveraging novel and unprecedented synthetic modalities
- Design, and execute DEL experiments according to project demand (structure-based design of protein reagents and tool compounds, planning and execution of DEL selections, data analysis and hit selection, hit validation)
- Design, optimize, execute experiments and studies for early research programs beyond DELs and interpret/analyze data in collaboration and alignment with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Support the generation of an innovative early drug discovery portfolio in collaboration with pharmacology functions, leveraging cutting-edge high throughput biology technologies
- Constantly scout the technology landscape in the field and explore novel methodologies.
- Engage in the world-wide community and in academic collaborations to constantly move frontiers in High Throughput Biology
WHO YOU ARE
-
You hold a PhD in natural sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related discipline
- You have a deep understanding of the drug discovery process with hands-on experience at different stages, ideally with hands-on experience at different stages of the process
- A deep understanding of the structural and functional basis of molecular drug-target interactions is also part of your profile
- You bring expertise and experience in design and execution of DNA-encoded library campaigns, subsequent data analysis, biophysical hit characterization, as well as additional high throughput biology applications
- You have a proven track-record in interdisciplinary project work (membership/leadership)
- You demonstrate excellent networking and communication skills and are able to deliver and present scientific and technical data in a consistent and clear manner
- You stand out with a high degree of self-organization and learning agility
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and basic German skills round off your profile
