Bench Scientist with a Focus on Chromatographic Separation Techniques (all genders)
You are part of the NCE Analytical Development (NCED) Capability Pool within the CMC & Technology cluster. The team carries out analytical project work for active pharmaceutical ingredients as well as their intermediates and starting materials, working closely with analytical and chemical project leads and other partners within Product Supply.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contributing expertise in chromatography to development projects with a focus on API development, including new modalities (e.g., targeted radiopharmaceuticals), as well as to overarching scientific projects and initiatives

Responsibility for and independently addressing separation problems in development projects using established (e.g., (U)HPLC, GC) and new chromatographic techniques (e.g., SFC), including the application of universal or specialized detection techniques

Presenting and discussing scientific topics, results, and developments in internal and external meetings

Monitoring current trends and developments in chromatography and promoting knowledge exchange and development through close collaboration with universities (e.g., supervising PostDocs as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s theses), organizing scientific exchange formats in collaboration with the Scientific Lead, and reviewing relevant scientific literature

Leading (sub-)projects and interdisciplinary analytical teams with a focus on chromatography and detection techniques
- Representing Analytical Development as a scientific expert for chromatography within interdisciplinary project teams
- Interest in digital innovation: contributing ideas for digitalization and the application of artificial intelligence in the scientific laboratory environment

Actively participating in the continuous development of CMC NCE analytics to promote innovation and efficiency in analytical activities
WHO YOU ARE
-
Completed degree in Chemistry or a related field, preferably with a PhD
-
Scientific expertise in instrumental analytics, particularly in UHPLC with various detectors (e.g., MS, UV, CAD)

Very good knowledge or professional experience in SFC with various detectors (MS, UV) is desirable

Interest in current trends in analytics and collaboration with academic institutions, including topics related to digitalization in analytics

Demonstrated ability to quickly and independently familiarize yourself with various complex analytical methods and questions

Team player (all genders) with strong communication skills, the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues, high flexibility, and the ability to build partnerships

Excellent IT skills and affinity, particularly experience with LIMS systems, Word, and Excel

Very good English skills and good German skills, both written and spoken
