YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Bayer is committed to delivering science for a better life by advancing a portfolio of innovative treatments; the company has the passion and determination to develop and commercialize medicines that help save and improve patients’ lives while upholding the highest ethical standards and integrity; as a Senior Medical Customer Engagement Manager, you report directly to the Country Medical Director (CMD) and act as the scientifically responsible expert between Bayer and the healthcare community through and within Bayer teams for one or various dedicated therapeutic areas and respective regions.
In this role, you establish sustainable scientific and strategic relationships between Bayer and key influential physicians, scientists, stakeholders, and related major medical associations and academic centers of excellence; you bring full knowledge of global medical and brand strategy and collaborate closely with cross‑functional, local, and regional strategic partners; you ensure that a high level of medical and scientific expertise and customer‑centric innovation capability is available for the organization and, by doing so, you play an important role in achieving the financial and non‑financial goals of the local organization.
KEY TASKS:
- Act as the scientific expert in one or multiple dedicated therapeutic areas and regions and support the nucleus to achieve defined outcomes;
- Keep abreast of the latest scientific research on the therapeutic area and competitors and translate insights into impactful medical strategies and activities;
- Provide trainings, medical review of internal and external communication materials, and strategic medical advice to internal stakeholders;
- Participate in the development and communication of scientific and educational information for healthcare professionals and support small group discussions and lecture presentations with external stakeholders;
- Foster strong partnerships across defined territories, acting as a trusted advisor and “conductor” to shape and synergize collaborations that lead to win‑win outcomes;
- Lead stakeholder mapping in line with global or local definitions and generate TL/HCP insights on unmet medical needs, documenting, translating, and communicating them to cross‑functional teams to inform tactics and strategy;
- Define existing data gaps for specific therapeutic areas, evaluate and discuss investigator‑initiated research (IIR) and institution‑sponsored collaborative studies (ISCS) with thought leaders, and support clinical trial teams on topics related to interventional trials and integrated real‑world data collection;
- Establish and lead mission teams to ensure best‑in‑class customer engagement excellence and customer‑centric innovation for the organization and act as an active member of the nucleus, with approximately 40–80% of working time field‑based.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Possession of a university degree or equivalent education in medicine, pharmacology, or natural sciences;
- More than 2 years of experience in a medical or biopharmaceutical field, dealing with drug information, clinical research and development, or other clinically related activities;
- Pre-existing knowledge in oncology and pharma industry / medical affairs or health care environment is needed;
- Affinity for digital solutions;
- Existing network in the area of Swiss GU oncologists and urologists is an additional plus;
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and translate scientific data, with a clear focus on outcomes as well as strategic and conceptual thinking skills;
- Demonstrated high self‑awareness and system awareness, proactively asking for and giving feedback, acting and learning fast, and evolving work in short cycles while continuously applying learnings;
- Scting consistently in compliance with laws and internal regulations;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong social skills, and a collaborative team‑player mindset with a strong willingness to learn and self‑develop;
- Fluent in German and English; Italian language skills are an additional plus.
