- Role within Bayer's Tax Community: The Senior Associate supports daily tax compliance operations related to indirect tax transactions, including preparing U.S. indirect tax returns, reconciling tax accounts, and collaborating with various internal partners to ensure proper tax recording and resolution of issues. The role also involves handling basic inquiries from tax authorities.
- Key Responsibilities: Tasks include reviewing transaction data for compliance with sales and use tax laws, preparing reports for multiple jurisdictions, conducting tax law research, monitoring tax accounts, managing exemption certificates, ensuring timely submission of returns and payments, and supporting process improvements and change management initiatives.
- Internal Collaboration and Scope: The position works closely with the GBS Taxes team, team leads, process experts, and other stakeholders within the USA to maintain accurate tax records and support tax compliance activities.
WHO YOU ARE
- Candidates should have a B/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or Tax, with over three years of tax compliance experience in U.S. jurisdictions, including at least one to two years in an associate role.
- Essential skills include intermediate English proficiency, knowledge of sales and use tax, ERP systems like SAP, advanced Excel skills, familiarity with tax software and data analysis tools, strong communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and the ability to work independently and in high-pressure situations.
