Site Engineer 

 

About the role

 

Bayer CropScience is seeking a Site Engineer to join the Site team in Pinkenba, Brisbane. This role will support maintenance and reliability initiatives, continuous improvement projects, engineering activities and operational performance across the site.


Working closely with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams, you will contribute to equipment reliability, asset performance, project delivery and process improvement activities while supporting Bayer's commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.


This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer or engineer looking to further develop their capability in reliability, maintenance and manufacturing.

 

Role Responsibilities

 

  • Act as a primary engineering contact for maintenance and reliability activities.
  • Support the development, optimisation and execution of maintenance strategies.
  • Participate in equipment failure investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Analyse maintenance and operational data to identify reliability trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain equipment records, asset information and maintenance plans.
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on safety, reliability, productivity, quality and efficiency.
  • Collect and analyse operational data to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist with engineering projects, plant modifications and commissioning activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, procedures and engineering documentation.
  • Support contractor management and project execution activities.
  • Participate in risk assessments, Management of Change (MoC) activities and incident investigations.
  • Promote and uphold Bayer's safety culture and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance teams receive appropriate documentation, training and support following equipment modifications or new asset installations.

 

Required Experience & Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Industrial, Manufacturing or related Engineering discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Commitment to safety, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

 

Desired Experience

 

  • Manufacturing, maintenance or reliability engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of asset management and maintenance strategies.
  • Experience using SAP PM or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Exposure to root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience supporting engineering projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • RPEQ registration or eligibility to obtain registration
